Lockdown - Postcards from Pembrokeshire

Over the past 12 months, in common with people throughout the world, the people of Wales have spent extended periods of time in Covid Lockdown. For many, travel, by anything other than on foot, has been restricted. The images I post here have been taken by me over the past few months, they represent glimpses of thoughts, feelings and brief experiences of my personal journey through Lockdown.

Lockdown - Postcards from Pembrokeshire

The future, for all of us, seems to have diminished to something unknowable. Impossible to plan or predict. I try to embrace uncertainty.

The objects in this photograph represent aspects of my life. The shiny, black patent, heeled shoes, are the part of me that would like to dance, not that I very often do, but being unable to visit a dancehall, makes me long to. The flimsy, vintage, nylon and lace blouse [which I have never worn], hangs in symbolic readiness for an occasion I cannot attend. The glitzy mirror light on my stairway creates a spotlight onto streets empty of shoppers and holiday visitors. The film of flowers etched onto my floorboards are an echo of footsteps on a green pathway that is just out of reach.
